It was truly a thrill to hear my latest song playing on the radio. You never can know how good it feels until it happens to you. I was driving down a somewhat desolate road when the DJ introduced the song, and I think I drove for another mile before it hit me and I said, “Hey, I wrote that!” I drove back into the city, called the radio station and asked when I would hear it again. After they told me, I drove to a strip mall and told just about everybody there to listen at that time. I think I also put up flyers on their bulletin board alerting customers who entered what the title of the song was. To show you to what extreme I took this, I contacted the radio station again to ask if the song would be in regular rotation, and they said that it would be for the coming week ( regular rotation means that it would be played about every two hours ). So I actually listened to–and made a chart of–the dates and times people would hear it. Then I informed virtually everyone I knew to contact the radio station immediately after it was played to tell the DJ how much they liked it. And they did.
